What makes Home Sweet Home Cares & Services, LLC great?!

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

Balancing being a spouse, child, relative, or other family member can be hard enough, but when that roll is compromised by becoming a Caregiver for your loved one, it becomes a challenge to separate the two. Not only that, but it can become a very exhausting feat to balance your personal life plus take care of a loved one and all the needs that are required. After awhile, it is hard to enjoy the loved one because the focus revolves around their cares.

Home Sweet Home Cares & Services, LLC completely understands! It is important that you enjoy your loved one and leave the caregiving to us! This is why we have such an array of wonderful services to offer so that you can relax and enjoy those special moments.

We know that cares and services are needed beyond Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM. Those loved ones with dementia are more likely to have troubles in the evenings and at night. It can be stressful for families to try to understand and manage this. Loved ones might have more fall risks at night due to the home being darker and it is harder to see.

Home Sweet Home Cares & Services, LLC offers a minimum 4-hour shift during the daytime. Overnight shifts are a minimum 8-hour or maximum 12-hour sleeping shift. Each of our Clients gets a customized plan that has services for their individual needs and a customized schedule for when services are needed. We are here for YOU! That is also why we are available 24/7, including holidays. Our Caregivers also know that they can reach management 24/7, also. If there is a concern or an emergency, our Caregivers can get in touch with us day or night!

It is important to us that you are able to know what is happening with your loved one during each of our visits. Perhaps your loved one lives in Iowa and you are out of state. It can be an overwhelming worry when family is not able to feel like they are in the loop. This should not be a stressor for anyone!

Home Sweet Home Cares & Services, LLC understands how important it is to have great communication! During each shift, our Caregivers will document on the online app that we have. Those notes can be accessed by individuals who have been granted access. Taking notes during each shift is important for many reasons. It allows Caregivers and those with access to notice any patterns or changes with a Client. Notes are easily accessible if a Client goes to the doctor's office and information needs shared. Family who are out of state could view notes and be able to contact us with concerns or to request additional services that might need added to a Client's customizable agenda. At the end of the day, it can be a much needed comfort to family members so that they know what is going on with their loved one.

It can be a concern to elderly to have services by an agency. Often times aging loved ones have a difficult time coming to grips with the idea of losing independence and needing help. It could also be a worry to have a "stranger" come into the home. Perhaps it might also feel like someone is coming to "baby-sit". Homecare can sound intimidating, negative, and not very inviting.

Home Sweet Home Cares & Services, LLC can offer a no pressure approach to homecare services. We offer a FREE Home Safety check and while we are in the home we can talk briefly to your loved one about our cares & services! Sometimes it just sounds different when it comes from an outside source than if family tries to suggest services. We would hope that each of our Clients would feel comfortable with their assigned Caregiver/s. Some Clients have felt very positive about getting a Caregiver to assist them with daily tasks because it gives your loved one a chance to do other things they might not have wanted to do. We do not look at Caregiving as a "baby-sitter" service. We view homecare as a helpful bonus. Nobody can fix what the aging process does to a body and at some point we may all need a little help. There is NO SHAME in that!

We understand the fear and reservation for some aging individuals about having homecare. The idea of "strangers" coming into the home can be overwhelming. Privacy can feel violated or imposed upon. Having someone come into the home can seem like a complete disruption.

Home Sweet Home Cares & Services, LLC can relate to this concern. We have some ways to hopefully provide some peace of mind. First, we don't just hire anybody. ALL of our Caregiver Specialists go through a background check, drug testing, driving record check, and go through an orientation process where they are required to go through Mandatory Reporter training and HIPPA training. Of course "book smarts" isn't everything. We encourage each Caregiver to learn about their Client so that not only are the services customizable, but so are your loved ones routines, activities, and schedules are not completely disturbed. We don't want to be a burden. Instead we want to be a reliable, trusted, and valued part of your family! We hire Caregivers that we would trust to care for our own family!
